This devotional bronze sculpture depicts the goddess Durga in her majestic four-armed form, seated in lalitasana upon an elevated throne. The deity assumes the posture of royal ease, with her right leg pendent and her left leg folded flat upon the seat.
 
Durga wears a tall, ribbed conical karanda-mukuta crown and is adorned with traditional ritual jewelry, including large circular earrings, multiple beaded necklaces across the chest, armlets, bracelets, and anklets.
 
Her upper hands hold her traditional divine attributes: the chakra (discus) in the upper right hand and the sankha (conch shell) in the upper left. The lower left hand supports an offering bowl resting beside the knee. The lower right arm is broken at the wrist; it originally displayed the abhaya mudra (gesture of protection) or held the trisula (trident).
The figure is set within a sophisticated architectural and protective framework characteristic of bronze production from Karnataka and the southern Deccan. A five-headed naga spreads its hoods above the deity's crown, forming a protective canopy. Behind the figure rises a large detachable openwork prabhavali (halo), engraved with geometric motifs and bordered by a fringe of stylized flames. At its apex appears the fearsome Kirtimukha, the mythical protective face traditionally intended to ward off malevolent forces.
 
The sculpture stands on a stepped rectangular pedestal. The front of the base is engraved with a naïve depiction of the lion, Durga's vahana (sacred mount). The reverse reveals the traditional mortise-and-tenon assembly together with the original casting cavity beneath the base, illustrating the solid-cast technique used for the deity and the hollow-cast construction of the pedestal. The surface displays softened details and an attractive dark patina, both indicative of prolonged domestic devotional use.
 
Condition: Lower right arm broken at the wrist with associated loss; ritual wear patina throughout; original detachable prabhavali preserved.
